Rising Prices, Empty Bowls: The Impact of Pet Food Costs in Peru

According to a study prepared by Kantar Worldpanel Peru Division, the increase in pet food prices impacts the purchasing behavior of Peruvian households during the second quarter of 2022.
According to the report, six out of 10 Peruvian households bought in the pet food category in the last quarter of this year, but repurchases are longer.
The purchase frequency was nine times per quarter in 2019; in the second quarter of the year 2022, it averaged only six visits.
According to the consultant Kantar Worldpanel (KWP), there are between 22 and 25 brands of pet food in the country, of which the preferred ones are Ricocan, Mimaskot, Dog Chow, and Pedigree.

In conclusion, 23.747 is the average price for dog kibble (8kg), and 2.96 dollars is the price of 1kg.
